Whistler Home
Sometimes we feel the success of Synthesis Design is in the hands of our most prolific clients. Two such clients are Bill and Diane Hanna. Almost 20 years ago, Diane & Bill took a chance on a green firm (and by green I mean rookies, not environmentalists) to redesign their home that sits proudly, if not somewhat precariously, on a very steep hill. Thankfully they were satisfied with our relationship, and over the years, there have been only few times when we were NOT working on a Hanna inspired project. It would usually start with a cheery phone call from Bill, “Curt, have you got a moment? I have a really cool idea that I want to discuss with you. Can you come over right away?” Coat and hat in hand before the phone was hung up, I rushed over. Their ideas always generated excitement for the firm, and on a few occasions, the ideas were even possible. The key player in our professional threesome, is unequivocally, Diane. Diane has always provided the voice of reason, and has done her best to keep us in check. Bill & I have both conceded that she is the brains behind the operation.

North Vancouver Home
Our latest venture is a winter playhouse in Whistler, situated with majestic views of both Blackcomb and Whistler mountains. While there are some traditional Whistler undertones, the house clearly features a modern aesthetic. We feel good architecture is directly proportional to a good client, and if this is true, the house cannot fail. Thanks to Diane & Bill, once again, for being such wonderful clients.
Construction is slated to begin in March 2011.
