A founding partner in Synthesis Design, Curtis D. Krahn has been a Principal since its inception on February 27, 1992.
Curtis received his Masters Degree in Architecture at the University of Oregon after completing his Undergraduate Degree at the University of Manitoba. While in Oregon, a Vancouver Urban Design firm invited Curtis to be part of the team that was to design much of the re-development in Coal Harbour. He then worked for a downtown architectural firm before starting Synthesis Design in 1992.
Curtis was a consultant for the University of British Columbia Professional Programmes Faculty, where he assisted in writing the commercial, industrial, and institutional construction curriculum, and marked for the residential construction course.
Curtis specializes in Residential Design on the North Shore, although he has designed projects from Oregon and California, to the Gulf Islands and the Sunshine Coast.
Since 2005, Curtis has been managing the Synthesis Design team on a 550 house wood frame residential subdivision in Moscow Russia, coordinating all aspects of design and liaising between Moscow, Russia and our contacts in Shanghai, China.
