design decisions feeling like a stretch?

“Will other guys be there?” I asked my doctor when she suggested I try a yoga class as part of a new health regimen. The image of clumsily doing downward dog surrounded by a sea of lithe ladies in pink spandex wasn’t a fitness move I’d previously considered. “You’ll be fine” she said, “try it.” Later that week, I was off to my first class. My fears were unfounded, as the class was populated by folks of all ages and body types (with not a shred of pink spandex in sight!). At the beginning, I proved to be as tight and unbalanced as I’d feared, but after following along with the instructor and my classmates for awhile I began to get the hang of it. All I needed was someone to show me the way.

It’s the same with the design related decisions we have to make for the interiors and exterior of our homes. We often know the look, or overall feel we want to achieve, but we just don’t know how to get there. We need someone to come alongside and point us in the right direction.

We have just launched a great new service to meet the need! The Design Button is here to help with in-ies (interior) and out-ies (exterior) design dilemmas. It’s easy… just bring us what you know (or already have) and we’ll help you fill in the rest. Some street view photos of your house, and some imagees of exteriors you like is usually all we need to advise on shingles, siding, windows, doors, paint colours, light fixtures and even house numbers. You’ll be surprised how much you can get out of a one hour consultation. Likewise for interiors, just bring us what you’ve got and we’ll help you pull it all together. You could get as detailed as bringing images from magazines, as well as samples of tiles, flooring, carpets, cabinets and countertops. Or keep it as loose as bringing a favourite scarf or piece of art to base your colour scheme on. Design Button may be just the “stretch” you need to get your home from where it is, to where you’d like it to be.

Don’t worry, if your Design Button consultation is with me, I promise not to wear spandex.
