James has recently been appointed to Director of Design and Operations in our Calgary office. James’ Master’s degree in sustainable building science has provided him a basis for blending sustainability with innovative and creative housing types. During James’ 7-year tenure at the Synthesis Design’s Vancouver office he established himself as a self-starter, a quick learner, and an efficient communicator. Here he learned the business of design as well as honing his design skills.

Growing up in Calgary, James has established roots in the city and this set him up naturally to take over the reigns of our Calgary office. James understands the design and municipal process, as well as the step code and complexities through the coordination of multiple consultants required to complete a successful project.

James’ strengths lie in his ability to understand clients needs, coordinate and facilitate consultants as well as ensuring an ongoing communication, bringing them to fruition.
