It’s 2 a.m. and I sleepily struggle down a dark street barely keeping hold of an oversized box filled with candle holders, picture frames, vases, and decorative accessories. This is the New Veshki development just outside Moscow, Russia, and in spite breaking a sweat while carrying my fragile cargo I am happy. My work is done!
In May, Synthesis Design completed the set up of the 5 most current New Veshki show homes. Each of the homes features a different Interior Design scheme that sets it apart from the others. The schemes are Elegant Contemporary, European Modern, West Coast Zen, Simply Traditional, and Transitional Elegant. New Veshki’s slogan is “Life as it should be”, and although it was a labour of love, creating a glimpse of the ideal life for 5 show homes did not come easy!
Led by Interior Design Principal Lynda Krahn, the Synthesis Team travelled to China and the U.S. to source finishes, furnishings, lighting, and accessories for the project. Once all the pieces were finally on site in Moscow, set up took several weeks (with many late nights), and a team of 5 designers. As the clients gave Lynda carte blanche the results are nothing short of spectacular, and the homes are both elegant and comfortable.
The greatest thing about the show homes is the people they draw to the New Veshki community. The streets are full of kids riding bikes, (as well as the occasional ATV!) and parents visiting in front yards. Synthesis is proud to have been a part of this residential development in Moscow. New Veshki built more than homes but a community inviting Russian families to join in’ Life as it should be’. Although it took endless hours and many late nights for the Synthesis team, in the end, it was a labour of love that we are all proud of.
