Just in time for summer, our modern waterfront cabin project has reached a few milestones. (We use the term “cabin” lightly.)
The dock has now been connected to the terra firma via a concrete landing with an inset cedar deck and a set of locally cut, open riser landscape stairs.
Our experiment with using a stained cementitious cladding, complete with exposed connectors and metal flashing reveals, has provoked some very positive reactions; as has the “garage” door, which connects the relaxing and eating areas to their respective decks and is joined by a catwalk.
The frameless glass railings with stainless standoffs allow for an uninterrupted view of the bay. We continue to pledge to be innovative in our unique use of materials and the manner in which they are installed.
As the client is in no hurry, the project is slated for completion sometime this decade.
