Beverley Crescent Residence

Published on: 7 October, 2020

BEVERLEY CRESCENT RESIDENCE

A new lease on life is all this 67-year-old Beverley Crescent home needed, and it was sensitively conceived by one of its initial inhabitants. Julie grew up in this home her grandfather built, so when the opportunity arose for her and Ian to purchase it, they jumped at the chance. There is a fine art between respecting the original ideals and creating a home that is uniquely personal. While not recognizable as the same home when Julie was a young girl, it has many similarities and it is her (and Ian’s) home once again.

By reconfiguring spaces, widening stairs and removing walls, the new spaces are open, friendly and the natural light brings the space alive. Coffered ceilings help articulate the open plan and the large pass through kitchen window opens to the outdoor living spaces with fireplace and hot tub.

Being a lumber broker, Ian is partial to wood, as evident by the beautiful exposed, vaulted fir post and beam structure that frames the covered deck and outdoor living spaces. With the masterful help from their builder, Twin Lions Contracting, Julie and Ian have (re)created this family treasure.

Truly, a home for all seasons.
